Kejaksaan Agung (Kejagung) menetapkan Thomas Trikasih Lembong (TTL), a former Minister of Trade, as a suspect in a corruption case involving the import of sugar. The case pertains to the import of raw crystal sugar during Lembong’s tenure as Minister of Trade from 2015 to 2016. The approval for the import, totaling 105,000 tons, was given to PT AP. The imported raw crystal sugar was processed into refined white sugar. The state incurred an estimated loss of around Rp 400 billion in this case.

• Detention: Both suspects were detained for 20 days as per the detention letters issued on October 29, 2024.
